10 Cannabis Tools to Add to Your Spring Collection

Easter has a reputation of being a long weekend where we hunt for chocolate eggs hidden by the Easter bunny celebrated with family dressed in their best pastels enjoying a long brunch in early spring. Christians celebrate Easter as the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial after his crucifixion by the Romans in 30 AD .
The connection of eggs, rabbits and an enlightened person rising from the dead is confusing… what do eggs and bunnies have to do with the romans crucifying Jesus.
They don’t. Easter is much older than Christianity, it was a widely celebrated pagan tradition during Spring Equinox which represents fertility and blossoming. After a long dark winter, chickens begin laying, flowers blossom and bunnies eagerly procreate. Eastre is the Germanic Goddess of spring and dawn. She’s the first warm spring winds, the birds that return, the trees that bud and curl forth leaves and flowers. She’s the awakening earth, rabbits and hares, the eggs that appear after a winter of no light.
The Spring Equinox is linked with new beginnings, flowering and rebirth which is why it makes sense that Christianity aligned the resurrection of Christ with this pagan celebration.
This year for Easter let’s focus on celebrating the radiance of spring and the young maiden goddess of Eastre wreathed in greenery joyously celebrating the freshness arriving after a long winter.
