Review: Earth Kisses Sky Cannabis Infused Salves
Imagine a skin salve that was an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-acne treatment. Imagine that that salve was available ready to infuse with cannabis oil and contained no artificial color or fragrance, no chemicals, no parabens, no artificial preservatives, no petroleum based products, no silicone and was designed & formulated by a holistic Nutritionist & Clinical Herbalist.
Now, meet Earth Kisses Sky.
These DIY (legal and compliant!) infused topicals are available in two formulations: Skin and Pain. Skin is designed to be a multipurpose salve that protects, hydrates and soothes the skin, while relieving acne, itching of bug bites & rashes, reduces redness & inflammation and may be used on hair to condition. Pain helps manage pain and inflammation. It's herbal ingredients have excellent analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that are useful for joint and muscle pain.
The Experience
I had the opportunity to try both and was blown away by how well Pain managed to reduce sore muscle aches. With tumeric added to the ingredient list I knew this one was going to be a winner! Tumeric contains a compound called Curcurmin which has shown promise in reducing inflammation.
I used it after working out (leg day is the worst, ya?) and found that it was pleasantly fragranced, and had a nice consistency that absorbs well. The jar is a generous size and lasted quite a while - I managed to talk my way into quite a few back rubs with this one little jar!
Skin is now my go-to facial moisturizer and skin prep product. Its oilier than a cream and is ideal in dry winter weather. My face is calm and soothed, even after running outside in the cold and wind. It absorbs quickly so I’m not waiting around to apply makeup either which is nice, because honestly, who has time in the mornings?
The Details
This is how the EKS system works. You choose your salve (Pain or Skin) and then you have the option of choosing a legal cannabis oil (the EKS site has helpful resources and info to help facilitate this) then you mix it all together and enjoy the salves on your face and body.
Each jar is 60 ml and costs $45 CAD.
