One of my favourite hotels (they have two locations: Victoria B.C. and Kelowna B.C. and soon one in Tofino B.C.) Hotel Zed has gone and wowed me again. In an effort to celebrate Canada’s Legalization Day aka 10/17 aka The End of Cannabis Prohibition in Canada the hotel has developed “Weed Walk” guides for both cities and created commemorative pins for the occasion.

Cannabis legalization might seem edgy to some, but Hotel Zed has always been a rebel against the ordinary. President and CEO Mandy Farmer has consistently worked towards challenging the norm. the hotel injects tons of fun into every stay. Its hip, neon-retro accoutrements include working rotary dial phones in guestrooms, vinyl record listening and typewriter stations in every lobby – there are also Ping Pong lounges, Wii stations, mini-discos, free roller skate rentals, and vintage VW shuttle buses… Weed Walk Guides are the perfect addition.

“Legalization is happening, this is a huge milestone event for the country and for those who use weed, whether medicinally or recreationally,” says Farmer. “We decided to commemorate this occasion with a special High Five Pin and our Weed Walk Guide. Everyone is welcome to visit the Hotel Zed front desk in either Victoria or Kelowna and pick one up.”  

The Hotel Zed ‘Weed Walk Guide’ highlights neighbouring dispensaries where your favourite blend can be purchased combined with tips on local things to do and of course, great places to eat.
