Five Dope Colouring Books for Weed Lovers

By: Tiyana Matliovski

Adult colouring books are the shit. I’ve been a dedicated colourer for about a year now, and it can be a powerful remedy to the madness of life.

Naturally weed themed colouring books are popping up pretty swiftly because, let’s face it, weed really gets the creative juices flowing and can be the ultimate therapy to a stressy day.

So here are five colouring books that pay homage to art and weed, which will surely brighten up your mood.

Color Me Cannabis by Chronic Crafter

Color Me Cannabis

Created by BC based artist the Chronic Crafter, this book could hardly have a better name than Colour Me Happy… no, Cannabis Makes Me Happy… fuck. Colour Me Cannabis, that’s it. Chronic Crafter tells me the inspiration came from her own therapeutic use of weed and art, and yes, every illustration was inspired by the plant.

The Stoners Colouring Book by Jared Hoffman

The Stoner's Coloring Book: Coloring for High-Minded Adults

Featuring 40 works from nine artists - this is a hipster weed colouring book sent down from the heavens. I’m also impressed that nine stoners managed to coordinate so successfully! Seriously though, a great collaborative effort on ‘The Stoner’s Coloring Book, created for elves, fairies, magi, poets, saints, sadhus, gurus, lovers, and other wise beings.’ Groovy!

Reefer Madness by Robin Smith

Reefer Madness Mandala and Quote Coloring Book

Go to any book store colour section and you’ll find a Mandala themed colouring book. I never really considered why this might be until now. A sacred spiritual circle with roots in eastern philosophy, it symbolises (among many things) devotion and progress. Each physical layer completed, a spiritual quality gained. As colour therapy is often to relieve stress and anxiety or improve creativity, it makes sense that the Mandala would be an ideal conduit for this. With both Cannabis and the Mandala sharing powerful spiritual elements, this one is a heavy hitter!

Killer Weed Colouring Book by TROG

The Killer Weed Coloring Book: For Marijuana Lovers

This book went straight in the shopping cart as soon as I realised that TROG, author and cannabis artists extraordinaire, is from my neck of the woods, Melbourne, Australia. TROG is a well known artist globally, working with names like Tommy Chong and Seattle Hempfest, his psychedelic illustrations are not for the faint of heart. I reckon TROG might be smoking his weight in weed in a bid to dream up these truly trippy illustrations.

The Stoner Babes By Katie Guinn

The Stoner Babes

Our list wouldn’t be complete without a colouring book that combines womxn and weed. This stunning compilation by Katie Guinn features real life stoner womxn that inspire her! She tells me that the key elements to the book are ‘diversity, intersectional feminism and empowerment’

Whichever you choose, I hope your colours shine bright like a psychedelic rainbow! Happy colouring!
