5 Ways to Add Cannabis to Valentine's Day
Valentine’s Day can feel overdone and disingenuine, a commercial day designed to encourage spending. If this were a rom-com, a hopeless romantic who had lost their faith in love would cry out how they ‘don’t need a marketing campaign to celebrate love’ about now - right before they met the love of their life and came to totally love Valentine’s Day.
Alas, this isn’t a rom-com and February 14th is just another day for many singles or couples alike. These 5 cannabis fueled tips can be enjoyed solo or with a partner for little to no money. We aren’t going to sell you a lux cannabis fairy tale, though these infused treasures may just rekindle your love of this fabricated holiday. Move over red wine and roses, cannabis is coming out to play this Valentine’s Day.
Cannabis Lube
Cannabis lubes come in many different forms, depending on whether they are infused with hemp or cannabis. Some contain THC, others only CBD, and there are lubes that have no cannabinoid content at all. Popular options like High on Love that offer orgasm oil, gel, and lip gloss made with hemp seed oil. These products can help increase blood flow and promote natural lubrication but don’t have the other effects of cannabis.
Infused lube that has THC or CBD is a little complicated in Canada as we await a Health Canada approved product. In legal states, they offer popular options like Miss Envy, Velvet Swing, and Foria Wellness. Don’t worry though, you can still get the stimulating and anti-inflammatory effects of a lube packed full of CBD or THC - you just have to make it yourself, good thing we have the recipe ready!
The Gift of Glassware
It’s fine if you are sick of the flowers and chocolates approach to Valentine’s day - why not try a less temporary kind of gift to enjoy all year long? There are tons of cute heart-themed pipes, bubblers, bongs, and accessories that make excellent presents. Glassware makes an excellent gift for a spouse, for yourself, or your fav Galentine.
Infused Chocolate
It doesn’t matter what you are doing for Valentine’s Day, chances are it involves chocolate - so why not try out cannabis-infused to really elevate the experience! Make sure to start low and go slow, it takes 60-90 minutes to feel an edible and no one wants to green out on date night.
If you were able to snag some recently legalized edibles in Canada, sweet. If not, you can use a double boiler to melt any delicious chocolate and combine it with cannabis-infused coconut oil to make your own. Pour it over strawberries, into a mold to cool, or directly onto each other.
You can also try your hand at baking. Our friends at Sundial Cannabis recently shared a delectable cannabis-infused, gluten-free, zucchini brownie recipe that will make anyone fall in love! Get the recipe here.
Roll a fancy joint/blunt
What is the difference between an everyday joint and a Valentine’s Day one? Whatever you want it to be! Get out of the same ol’, same ol’ rolling routine and spice it up a little. If you want to put a pretty spin on it, try rolling your joint/blunt with some fun papers or nto a tulip design. Or you can take it up a notch and try your hand a kief covered version of the classic jay.
Infused bath for two
Whether the bath is for you and another person, a book, or your vibrator, an infused bath for two is the perfect way to relax your body and spirit. All you need is some Epsom salts, cannabis oil, and essential oils to create an aromatic and muscle easing homemade soak in minutes. If you are using an infused soak with an oil base be careful when getting out of the tub as it can get slippery. If there is any residual oil on your skin, give each other, or yourself, a sensual massage after the bath to extend the experience and not waste expensive products.
